Console war
Since the beginning of the 1970s, when gaming was becoming a major commodity in the market, competitors began to go against each other in the console market, from the Atari 2600, the Magnavox Odyssey, or the Jaguar, many of tried to dominate the market, until its near crashing in 1983. Afterwards when it started to recover, Nintendo began to stand at the top, thanks to its seal of approval and great games with contracts to limit the number and prevent inflation. Then due to some mistakes in 1988, Sony decided to put its hat in the ring of the console wars with the PlayStation. It was looker in the 2000s when Microsoft joined with the Xbox and so the console wars began to be solely between these three major companies.
